Stephan M. Vogel dies suddenly at the age of 58. Shown at a private audience with Pope John Paul II in his summer residence Castel Gandolfo. As an expert for international events and a publisher, Vogel once organized a concert for the Holy Father. The Pope blessed Vogel and his family. The photo shows the Pontifex as he is accepting a gift from Vogel: German mass wine from the South Wine Road, to be served at the High Altar in St. Peter's Cathedral in Rome.
